Eddie Graf

Eddie Graf

Eddie Graf is a much-lauded Canadian musician and composer/arranger, who has been honoured by the Canadian Bandmasters Association. His work is well known and respected by musicians all over Canada and most particularly in Toronto. At 87 years of age, Eddie remains a virtuoso Sax and clarinet player on the Toronto music scene.

Eddie’s big band jazz charts are in much demand in Ontario and his concert band arrangements and compositions are much loved by the few bands that are aware of them. Because Eddie’s charts have only been available in hand-written form until now, very few bands have had the opportunity to enjoy them. Musicians that have played them, love them (even though they have been difficult to read in their manuscript form) so this publisher has undertaken to transcribe the bulk of his work in a more legible printed form. You will be seeing our library of Graf charts expanding over the next year or so.

If you haven’t had the opportunity to play Eddie’s charts, try them! We’re convinced that you’ll love them. They range in style from tone-poem to strollin’ jazz and in difficulty from elementary to challenging. Regardless of whether the music is an original composition or an arrangement of an old favourite you will be impressed by the beauty and simplicity of the arrangements and the understanding of the use of each instrument to take advantage of its unique qualities and what it can contribute to the overall sound.
